Rachel + Brandon Engagement || Luskville Dragway in Quebec
A race to the finish line
Rachel and Brandon are the cutest couple. They are the perfect example of “marry your best friend”! These two have both been competitively drag racing since they were very young (he was 6 when he started and she was 13!) and sort of knew each other off and on through the competitions. During the 2018 racing, they quickly hit it off and fell madly in love with one another.
Navigating a long distance relationship (with Rachel in London, Ontario for university and Brandon in Belleville), they continued to grow closer until Brandon surprised Rachel by popping the question, right before Christmas last year. They were able to share the news with both of their families the following day (both families are pretty close because of the shared racing connection). Rachel’s dad just built a massive garage for all of their race cars to be housed, which suits them just fine as it will likely be a backdrop to their wedding day, so they can roll into the festivities in style.
I was stoked to find such gorgeous settings for their engagement shoot at this racing track in Quebec! Those beautiful rolling hills and wildflower fields made for a wonderfully dainty setting paired with the intensity of the race track where we did a quick outfit swap and continued shooting.
I loved getting to shoot these lovebirds at the Luskville Dragway in Quebec because it was so significant for their relationship. I do give my couples a pretty big list of location ideas for those who don’t have an idea going into our planning, but it means so much more when we’re able to document this happy, exciting time in a special place.
I can’t wait to see what’s next for these two! P.S. Thank you for giving me another perfect “Insta vs Reality'“ photo opp ;) Brandon dropped Rachel off his shoulders! Don’t worry, she landed in a soft cushion of grass so she was just fine, but I got it all on camera for them to enjoy later!
