Jamie + Cody

Being an Ottawa wedding photographer means that COVID-19 has really impacted 99% of my couples , but Jamie + Cody didn’t let a pandemic stop them from having a beautiful wedding! These two pulled off a “mini” wedding that was an absolute delight for me to capture. The wedding was held in Jamie’s parents’ backyard in Brockville, Ontario which made for a significant and sentimental setting.

These two have a darling “how we met” story. Cody plays for the NHL Pittsburgh Penguins and met Jamie at a Skrillex concert at the Ottawa Bluesfest. He immediately went home and looked up every Jamie on Facebook from Ottawa until he found her!

This mini wedding was pulled together in just about two weeks! Naturally, Jamie + Cody wanted it to be perfect and feel like the larger wedding they always imagined, so they worked with their amazing wedding planner (Courtney Elizabeth Events!) to make sure no small detail was forgotten (including their matching French bulldog babies!). The ceremony was held in the front yard of Jamie’s parents’ house and their reception in a covered tent.

The ceremony ended with a surprise for the couple: a drive-by parade with some of their friends! I could tell how much this show of support meant to these two. It was such a special moment to cap off the most special day! Those who were unable to join the parade sent in their super sweet videos for the couple to hear during the dinner.

Since Jamie + Cody still plan to have the big wedding festivities with all of their friends and family, they opted to officially get married this year to start their journey together and save those important, special things (like Jamie’s actual wedding dress, big guest list, bridal party, etc!) for their 2021 celebration at Stonefields Estate.
