A Cottage Sunset Engagement || Jamie + Cody
A dreamy summer evening
You know when you have something just SO GOOD that you just * save it *?I Nope? Just me? It’s like when you find the PERFECT dress and you just save it for the perfect occasion. Or you find a great marker and just save it for your next project. It’s when you save something for SO LONG because youre just waiting for the perfect time to let it shine. That’s me with Jamie + Cody’s engagement session!! I’m so excited to share another session with these two :) I shared their mini wedding back in November, and I’m back today with their lakeside engagement session.
Jamie and Cody decided to have their engagement session at their cottage in Quebec. They love to spend their time off there relaxing by the water, so naturally they felt really comfortable during out time together. Well, the location and the few shots of whiskey they took before we started shooting definitely helped them feel relaxed, hehehhe.
Their cottage is right next door to Cody’s parents, which meant we had double the property to explore during our session. Lac Mallonne is so scenic and made for the perfect backdrop during a warm, sunny August evening! I feel instantly transported back to summer when I look through this gallery.
We had so much fun together during their engagement session. They really trusted the process and let themselves have so much fun. Their comfort and happiness definitely comes across in the photos! We wandered between the cottage properties and popped into the lake just as the sun started setting. I’m so grateful for couples who are up for my spontaneous suggestions.
As you can see, they also had their adorable little French Bulldogs join during the session! The dogs came in and out of shots as they pleased and were such a cute addition to their photos. They names are Zeus and Hugo, and if you’re as obsessed with them as I am, you can follow them on Instagram at @bulldogbros_.
I’m so happy with how this session turned out! Jamie and Cody are some of my dream clients and I hope to have more like them in the future.
