After working as an Ottawa wedding photographer for many years, I have been able to frequent some of the top Ottawa wedding venues time and time again. It is always exciting to see how different couples decorate their venues, and I love being able to capture the different wedding days as they unfold. Each year, I photograph over ten weddings at Stonefields Estate in Carleton Place, a small town just outside of Ottawa. Ten times each wedding season… I kid you not! Fortunately, this is one of my favorite venues to photograph as an Ottawa wedding photographer, and it’s so close to home. I feel lucky to be able to shoot so many beautiful weddings there. It offers so many unique locations for photographs and never gets old!

Katherine and Chad’s Stonefields Estate wedding from September was no exception! Their day is so memorable for so many reasons. As a couple, they are just so freaking sweet and easy-going! They made my job a breeze by trusting me and their vendor team completely. Whenever couples hire excellent vendor teams and tell them to “do their thing,” it ends up working out great! And the vendor team that Katherine and Chad selected was unbeatable! They pulled together some of Ottawa’s best luxury wedding vendors with great success. The day was designed and coordinated by the incredibly talented Amanda from the Gathering Company, and I cannot speak more highly of her. She executed everything so beautifully!

The day started in the estate’s gorgeous bridal suite, where the bridesmaids prepped with Katherine, and we captured all of her lovely details. Chad and his groomsmen got ready in the man cave at the venue! The girls sipped champagne, and Katherine read a heartfelt letter from her groom. She then shared the sweetest first look with her dad!

Even though it was a warm and sunny September day, I love that Katherine and Chad took advantage of one of the many unique locations at Stonefields Estate and got married inside of the chapel. The ceremony was short and sentimental, and the guests celebrated their grand exit by tossing dried lavender on the couple as they exited the chapel! It was so cute. We then took advantage of some of the venue’s gorgeous grounds for portraits, which turned out so light and charming. I especially love the tender shots of the couple just holding each other close.

Their reception started with a fun grand entrance. They kept the celebration going with the shoe game and an outdoor first dance underneath the string lights, with guests holding sparklers around them! It was so romantic. They finished off the night with cake cutting and dancing inside the loft.

The wedding showcased so many amazing details. They chose an incredible floral installation to drape across the fireplace and then repurposed it for their head table! Bride tip: always use and reuse the gorgeous ceremony florals every way you can throughout the day! I loved the rich, fall colour palette— an elegant combination of greens, neutrals, and wine. Katherine absolutely glowed in her stunning gown, and her bridesmaids really popped against the green trees in their dark dresses. Another favorite details was Katherine and Chad’s sweetheart table. They had a small table at their reception set just for the two of them, and it was one of the dreamiest setups I’d ever seen!
