Katie + Ron Engagement Session || Constance Bay Beach, Ottawa
A post-wedding engagement
I’m so excited to introduce you to the adorable Katie and Ron! Not only are they a gorgeous couple, but they were so fun to work with! Like so many couples this year, Katie and Ron postponed their wedding due to Covid. But they still wanted to get married, so they eloped! The elopement took place in Nova Scotia where they had a little ceremony on the beach. However, they still wanted to take engagement photos! This session in Ottawa was actually after their elopement. I love to see how couples have really made the best of a crazy situation, and Ron and Katie are no exception!
One thing I love about my job is that I get to learn about each couple's love story. Ron and Katie’s story is so cute and unique! Their moms grew up together in a small town but later moved away from each other. As kids, Ron and Katie loved playing together when their moms got the chance to visit. When they got older, Ron and Katie reconnected at a wedding and started dating immediately. They’ve been together for eleven years! Isn’t that adorable?
We decided to take their engagement photos at a beautiful private beach in Ottawa. It was actually near Katie’s parent’s farm! I love when clients choose locations that are familiar or meaningful to them. It makes their photos so special and memorable! We could not have asked for a more perfect evening for engagement photos. It was a gorgeous September evening–– not blistering hot or too chilly either. Ron was repping Nova Scotia with a local plaid shirt and so was Katie with her tartan scarf! I loved their outfits.
What a fun and unique experience to take post-wedding engagement photos. It just goes to show it’s never too late or the wrong time to capture your love. You can just see Katie and Ron’s love for each other through these photos, which I think may be one of my favorite parts of my job.
