Helena + Devon Cottage Engagement Session || Le Belvedere, Quebec
The Happiest of Happy Hours
Helena + Devon are an adorable couple. I am so excited to share these photos from their session! These two are a perfect example of why it’s so important to document your journey together — look how happy they are! That’s not the bliss of a recent engagement and impending wedding. This shoot was an anniversary shoot, celebrating their first year of marriage! I love that I got to share in their happiness at this lovely family cottage near Le Belvedere, Quebec.
The first year of your marriage goes by in such a blur. Most couples get the typical engagements taken prior to the wedding, and often a bridal/formal shoot or two, then the wedding day, and then that’s it. Your love story doesn’t end after the honeymoon! Documenting your continuing love in an anniversary session is a special way to capture your lasting relationship so you can reflect back years later and remember the happiness of that special time.
Helena and Devon met years ago at a mutual friend’s New Year’s Eve party. They were married in 2019, and this anniversary shoot took place last year in October. It was a beautiful fall day and we took a little adventure to their family cottage in Quebec for this shoot, which was one of my last sessions of the year.
This woodsy location was really special because of the connection to the couple, which makes our session photos that much more meaningful. The family owns tons of property up there so we were able to hop on a side-by-side and drive around to a bunch of different beautiful locals for photos. This cottage is also special in that this lovely location with beautiful rolling hills is where Helena and Devon got married!
We had our own little “Cottage Happy Hour” where we drove around to all the favorite spots and checkpoints along the trails and their family’s property, grabbed a beer, and then took a few more photos! I loved spending time with these two and wish them all the best!
