This was surely a wedding I will never forget. In June, I travelled to New York with Andy + Jenn to document their special day in South Berlin, NY. Being an Ottawa Wedding Photographer, at first I had no idea what I was getting myself into. What in the heck can be found in South Berlin!? Crazy enough… the most amazing wedding venue.

The Gilbertsville Farmhouse is actually owned by the sweetest couple who was originally from QUEENS, NY… but wanted to do a complete 360 on life! They packed up their city lives and moved to one of the most peaceful, scenic properties in New York. Not only are they are a wedding venue, but they’re a fully functioning farm, run the CUTEST FREAKING GOAT YOGA and…. they provide glamping.

I’m not kidding when I say I literally visited the most high end glamping tents I’ve ever seen, took part in goat yoga and documented a wedding, all within 24 hours! {Click here to check out a few personal goat yoga photos from the trip!}

It’s no shocker that I’ve heard a lot of love stories, but Andy and Jenn’s will definitely stick with me! Once in a while… the world does crazy things to ensure two people meet. Jenn is actually from the USA but moved to Ottawa for work! You’ll never guess who was sent to pick her up from the airport… her new co worker and future husband, Andrew.

I’m so glad they chose The Gilbertsville FarmHouse for their wedding! The views are absolutely breathtaking, the grounds are decor infused and the reception barn…. heart eyes. I had so many favourite moments from their wedding {so happy I was there to capture these special moments!} but one of my favourites had to of been when Jenn surprised her mom with a first dance, to the song they used to dance to in the living room. Jenn decided to dance with her mom in leu of her dad, as she knew he wasn’t a dancer. But… it was no surprise that her dad of course surprised her with a first dance!

One last thing before I wrap this up! Another reason I will never forget Jenn + Andy’s wedding is because at one point I was scared for my life. There was A CRAZY thunderstorm during the reception! It was a beautiful day, all day, but the moment we entered for the reception it started DOWN POURING! I swear there was hail in June!

Thank you so so so much for bringing me to New York with you! I had the absolute best time!
