Stephanie + Matt || Married!

Stephanie and Matt’s Temple’s Sugar Bush wedding was a bright, summery dream! The event was rustic, elegant, and full of personality—just like them. Their palette of white, dusty rose, sage green, and burgundy was so unique but perfect for a late August wedding.

You think after doing over sixty weddings in a year, I’d see it all and a lot of the same thing, but I am really fortunate to have amazing clients who showcase their own styles and include elements in their weddings that are personal to them. This is one of my favorite parts of being an Ottawa wedding photographer and keeps everything fresh and exciting for me! While many Chelsea Mason brides have beautiful rustic affairs, I loved how Stephanie and Matt added definite sophistication to their event. Stephanie looked gorgeous in a drop-waist, flowy gown and low chignon updo, and Matt was her perfect compliment in a classic black tux. And I always love a good bow tie!

Their wedding party looked stunning in their dusty rose dresses and ties, and it was such a blast to get to know them and see their relationships with the bride and groom. One of the coolest parts of the day was watching them all walk down the aisle. Instead of a simple, traditional ceremony, Matt and Stephanie had their wedding party come down the aisle and greet Matt with something funny, like a set of great dance moves or a hockey face off. How fun is that?!

The whole day went so smoothly and was incredibly joyful. The girls started off in the morning with champagne and breakfast at the Marriott Hotel while enjoying getting ready together, while I enjoyed photographing Stephanie’s gorgeous wedding details. The groom prep on the other hand, well let you check it out yourself ;) #captionthis. I loved her colorful florals (those pops of burgundy made it so pretty!) and invitations. We then head to the forest for a first look and portraits, and we were lucky to find the perfect soft lighting. Matt’s reaction to seeing Stephanie in her dress for the first time was so sweet, and they were both glowing during their portrait session. It was such a wonderful summer wedding in Ottawa. Congratulations, you two!
