A Beach Belly

Celebrating momentous occasions is one of the greatest parts of family life and capturing these occasions is one of the greatest parts of my job as an Ottawa maternity photographer! Having the opportunity to photograph families in their most joyful seasons brings me great joy. There’s nothing better than learning about each family’s unique story, and getting to know Sabrina and Zach’s was no exception to this!

I have been privy to this sweet family’s growth over the past few years, so planning their Ottawa maternity photography session was a dream come true. I met Sabrina a few years ago through our mutual best friend, so it felt like an honour to capture this exciting time of life for them. With warm summer weather, a gorgeous sunset, and a darling couple, this Britannia Beach maternity session was bound to be incredible!

Sabrina and Zach met in 2019 and were lucky enough to quickly become pregnant with their sweet son, Andrea, in the summer of 2020. Because this was their first pregnancy, they were very eager to have a maternity photography session in Ottawa. We quickly got to planning and decided on Britannia Beach as the perfect backdrop for their romantic and relaxed maternity shoot.

A majority of the beach was closed down on the day of the shoot; the small segment that was open was full of people enjoying the nice August weather. Even though we didn’t have a ton of space to work with, we took advantage of the perfect weather and beautiful lighting and were able to capture so many stunning shots! I worked my magic as an Ottawa maternity photographer and made it look like we were on a private beach! I love the energy these images captured; it’s so apparent that Sabrina and Zach are so in love and ready to become parents. We had an amazing time shooting—literally shooting until we lost all light to the sunset!

The couple welcomed baby Andrea a few short weeks after this shoot, and I can’t wait to celebrate his first birthday with them this summer!
