Sweet Springtime Engagement Session
We have another glorious Ottawa spring engagement session for the blog today! Megan and Josh could be models; they looked perfect in their romantic and just-formal-enough outfits and were naturals in front of the camera; I didn’t even have to work too hard to pose them! Their chemistry was tangible and so easy to capture.
Megan and Josh chose Stewart Park in Perth as the location for their shoot, which was a perfect fit because it is one of their places to go and spend time together! It always adds so much to a session when a couple chooses a location that is personal to their relationship and helps tell the story of their love. We spent the evening exploring the park together and taking advantage of all of the beautiful scenery—the gardens, pond, and darling bridge!
The weather also cooperated perfectly for us; we took advantage of the golden sunshine, offering the loveliest diffused light behind the trees and warm spring weather. We were blessed with the best vibes and great energy from the happy couple. I could’ve photographed them all night if we didn’t run out of sunlight!
These two also have one of the sweetest love stories I’ve heard as an Ottawa wedding photographer. Josh proposed in one of the best ways ever: during a freezing cold Christmas parade in December! Josh is a firefighter and was on one of the firefighter floats. He surprised Megan by jumping off of the float, pulling Megan out of the crowd, got down on one knee in front of everyone, and popped the question. Obviously, she said yes, and the rest is history! They are enjoying every minute of their engagement and are deep in the planning process. They’re currently still picking a date for their big day; Josh says 2018, and Megan says 2019! No matter which date they choose, they are bound to end up with gorgeous images, if their wedding portraits are anything like these engagements!
