Kate + Matty's e-Session!

It is always such fun to get to know my new clients for the first time as an Ottawa wedding photographer, and an engagement session is always the perfect way to get to know them and get everyone comfortable before their wedding day! And Matty and Kate were no exception; I already love working with them so much! 

Kate and Matty have the sweetest love story. They have known each other for four years and met while working at Grace O’Malley’s. Kate says, “He was the cute bartender, and I was a server.”  After dating for a few years, Matty proposed in April using their sweet puppy Copper, and they describe it as being the most amazing moment! It’s no surprise that they have such a sweet love story because their chemistry is so obvious! I loved so many of their photographs, as well as the background of the shoot and overall vibes that they brought with them—so perfect for a summer engagement session in Ottawa. For their engagement session, we met up at Matty’s parents’ house. It is such an amazing location! His family used to use the property for camping in the summer, but his parents eventually built their dream house overlooking the Ottawa River, which made for the most picturesque photographs! 

We had the best evening and gorgeous weather; we started the session off in the wildflower fields before sharing some wine by the water. It was so fun to capture their natural interactions, snuggles, and laughter. And things got extra romantic when they braved the cold of the river! They looked like an absolute model couple and so in-love. Kate’s red dress and strappy wedges looked perfect with Matty’s button-down and jeans look, and even their darling puppy, Copper, matched them! 

I cannot wait for their winter NYE wedding at Lago Bar and Grill on Dow’s Lake! But in the meantime, these darling photos will have to hold you all over!
