Josee + Jean Engagements || Mill of Kintail, Almonte
Josee + Jean
After a whirlwind of 2020 and 2021, it is nice to have a bit more normalcy in the wedding world as an Ottawa wedding photographer. There’s nothing more exciting than shooting engagement sessions for weddings that are actually going to happen on time with full guest counts, and this Carleton Place engagement session at the Mill of Kintail in Almonte is a wonderful way to start celebrating this!
Josee and Jean have been together for a decade, so their wedding is even more reason for a party. After meeting ten years ago, they moved to B.C. together. They have been engaged for six years after getting engaged in Hawaii (the most unexpected surprise in the most romantic location!). Travel has been such an important part of their relationship, and they seek out every opportunity for an adventure. Out of the many places they’ve visited together, Italy was their favorite!
We made sure to bring that romantic and adventurous energy to their summer engagement shoot in Almonte and had the best evening together! We reveled in one of the most idyllic summer evenings—near perfect weather, but just cool enough that the bugs weren’t out yet. The golden hour light set the scene with the dreamiest golden hues, and Josee and Jean chose the perfect apparel for magazine-worthy Ottawa engagement photos. We had the best time together. They warmed up really quickly to the camera, and it was almost like hanging out with friends— just so relaxed and fun!
And the location couldn’t have been better. The Mill of Kintail is a favorite location for engagement photos, no matter the season. It’s a not-so-hidden gem in Almonte, Ontario. Despite being covered by trees, it has one of the best sunsets in early summer! Don’t believe me? See for yourself in these photos!
Josee and Joan were just married in Le Belvedere in Wakefield, Quebec, and their wedding marks so many exciting milestones! It will be the first wedding of my 2022 season, first wedding in two years without COVID restrictions, and my first wedding not pregnant in a while! My last non-pregnant wedding was in 2020. We all know how awful working was for me in 2021, struggling with HG while shooting, so I am thrilled to be back at it under much better circumstances. Thank the Lord. All wonderful things! I can’t wait to share their gorgeous Le Belvedere wedding photos with you soon!
