A Sunflower Dream

Would you look at this field of sunflowers?! Talk about a dream location to shoot at! This adorable couple in this amazing sunflower field is Jenn + Scott. They originally wanted to have their session at the experimental farms, but after a little bit of research, we found this sunflower field in Ashton, ON and we all knew we had to shoot here! Oh, we are so glad we did!

This happy couple met a little over five and a half years ago at the gym. Scott is in the military and had just been posted to Ottawa. Jenn just happened to be working at the base that he got posted to (I see the stars aligning). They ran into each other at the gym one day and Scott struck up a conversation, which led to their first date. Crazy enough, these two DID NOT hit it off at first, so they went their separate ways, planning to never see each other again. Call it fate, because they ran into each other after that first date and decided to give it another shot. Six months later and Scott was moving in with Jenn. Fast forward four more years and Scott proposed to Jenn on her birthday at the Andaz rooftop bar in Ottawa, ON.

Jenn and Scott are a super chill couple who don't take anything too seriously. They just like to have fun in any situation, including this shoot, which I love! They were so much fun to shoot and we had a great time together! I love easy-going couples who are just happy to be together and let me guide the shoot so we can get amazing shots.

It was a very weird day for a photo shoot. The day started out with deep and dark storm clouds, which soon turned to the hottest, most blazing sun ever, and then again, back to darkness. Weird. Luckily it never rained! Though, playing in the rain in this sunflower field would have been really fun with these two! Jenn and Scott just happily frolicked through the fields for an hour, popping champagne, and making my job easy! Also, Jennifer rocked a custom jean-jacket and I was obsessed!

This location was definitely a fan favourite and I really hope the family continues to offer their beautiful property to the Ottawa public this year! If they do, I will definitely be back!
