Engagement on The Big Rideau Lake

I had the wonderful opportunity of shooting Hannah and Zach’s engagement session this summer, and it ended up being one of the most beautiful and heartfelt sessions to date! This Canadian lakeside engagement session is one for the books—so full of light, joy, beautiful scenery, cute shoes, and bubbly!

Hannah and Zach met while working at BayView Marina in Portland, ON, so they wanted to return there for their engagement session to show off their love of the water and relive the happy memories. It was a perfect backdrop to capture their love; there’s just something so romantic and adventurous about an evening on the water with the one you love!

They looked classy in their nautical apparel—Hannah in a timeless white dress (can you believe that bow on the back and cutout!? So cute!), and Zach was handsome in his navy button down. And can we just talk about Hannah’s shoes for a second?! They added the best little pop of color to her ensemble.

We spent the evening exploring the lake on a friends boat, and I had the greatest time photographing their natural interactions, from all of the sweet snuggles to the sunset strolls. These two belonged in a movie with how photogenic they are! I love the images of them leaning over the edge of the boat and the windswept embraces.

We closed the night out with a beautiful sunset and some champagne: the perfect combination. Hannah and Zach are getting married in Cuba in January, and I was so excited for the chance to work with them there as a destination wedding photographer! Even though our plans had to change due to my pregnancy (hellllo, baby!), I loved the chance getting to know this darling and sweet couple and love love love this session!
