Caitlin + Matthew
When two pharmacists meet and fall in love in Toronto, the obvious next step is to plan a dream wedding! For Caitlin and Matthew, this meant pulling from their country roots and designing their dream Ottawa wedding at Evermore Weddings and Events. They fell in love with the venue from the first second they set foot there; it reminded Caitlin of her hometown in the countryside north of Toronto. With the help of the lovely Courtney Elizabeth Events, their Evermore Wedding went off without a hitch and was truly a dream to photograph as an Ottawa wedding photographer.
I have been lucky enough to photograph Evermore weddings many times, but this wedding was special because I was the first photographer who got to shoot in their new bridal prep suite! It was so pretty and idyllic for photographs. I am back at the venue a few more times this year and cannot wait to see what other changes they have made!
With the beautiful barn backdrop, they started the day off by prepping with friends and family. Caitlin’s family and bridesmaids were so enthusiastic and so much fun! They showed so much emotion all throughout the morning, and it was obvious that they were just thrilled to be a part of her day. It was really special to see all of the support as Caitlin’s mom helped her prepare. And this continued as she did a first look with her dad and bridesmaids.
Matthew and Caitlin wanted to enjoy cocktail hour with their guests, so they decided to do a first look and knock out most of the portraits ahead of time. I love how many different backdrops there are for Evermore wedding photos! We photographed the bridesmaids by the gorgeous, iconic willow tree, and we shot the groomsmen with the barn doors in the background. The girls looked so beautiful in their flowing, dusty rose-colored dresses! The couple shared a quick and sentimental first look outside of the farmhouse before heading to the ceremony.
Set in a gorgeous field, their ceremony was full of joy and really celebrated their relationship and union. The reception continued on that same emotional note, with the most tender speeches shared by Caitlin and Matthew’s loved ones! It was so hard to keep a dry eye with the kind words that were spoken. We celebrated all of the traditional first dances in Evermore’s outdoor reception area, and then we brought the party back inside for the rest of the dancing and libations!
And of course, I snuck the couple outside for the unbeatable sunset portraits. These are always some of my favorites to capture as an Ottawa wedding photographer. This is when we caught the perfect golden light as the sunset behind the trees; it made for absolutely incredible, intimate portraits! Caitlin looked stunning with her classic lace gown and loose curls, and Matt was her perfect match. The photos truly do speak for themselves!
I also cannot speak highly enough about the vendor team for the day. It was a pleasure working with Courtney Elizabeth Events, who made my job easier and came in clutch by helping with some last-minute calligraphy on envelopes. Reliving this wedding makes me so excited for wedding season to kick into gear for 2020!
